A Personal Message From Owner, April Erickson...

April Erickson, CRNA, Owner
❓Are you worried about nagging pain that doesn’t go away no matter how much stretching, foam rolling or massaging you do?
❓Are you frustrated that other treatments like: massage, heat, ice, foam rolling, and rest haven’t worked?
❓Are you having trouble keeping up with your peers and are missing out on fun activities?
❓Are you still looking for a long-term solution so you can enjoy your independence again?
If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, you are in the right place!
You see, many people with nagging pain in Alaska suffer unnecessarily because they’re told…

⚠️ Just “rest it” and it’ll be fine (then months later they’re still suffering…)
⚠️ It’s “normal” with aging
⚠️ If you take some pills everything will be fine.
⚠️ Stopping the activity is the only option.

The Truth is:

✅ Resting it doesn’t change anything. You might get a small, temporary relief, but then when you become active again, you’ll still be suffering from pain (I bet you’ve already experienced it!)
✅ It’s not normal to get back pain, knee pain, or Achilles pain as you get older!
✅ Pain pills are addictive, dangerous, and can cause a lot of other problems with your body.
✅ Surgery, rest, and/or stopping the activity is not the only option. It’s just the only option your surgeon can offer you.

At Runners’ Edge Alaska We Strive To Help Recreational And Elite Alaskan Runners Of All Ages Return To Running Safely, Effectively And Pain-Free, For Life."

It can be very confusing to decide exactly what you should do if you have pain. You’ve likely heard a lot of options such as…

❓ A family member tells you to foam roll
❓ A colleague mentions going to a massage therapist
❓ The “experts” on YouTube recommend doing a certain exercise
❓ A friend suggests going to a yoga class
❓ All while the doctor tells you  to rest and take it easy for a while

It’s overwhelming to try to make a decision with all these choices…what will happen if you don’t make the right one?

Most people get stuck trying to make a decision about what to do next. They go days, weeks, months (even years!) without taking action.

When It Comes To Solving Something Like Sports Related Pain...

You must choose the right provider for your health. If you don’t, you could end up getting dangerous surgery (when it is not necessary) or end up being dependent on addictive painkillers the rest of your life.

Getting the “least-invasive”, most natural treatment is VITAL to you stopping your pain and keeping it from ever coming back.

To do that, you have to not just treat the pain, but have a provider who is willing to figure out WHY the pain happened in the first place. That’s when you’ll get a PERMANENT solution to your problems.

At Runners’ Edge Alaska we’ve created a 3 step process to get rid of your pain AND make sure it doesn’t come back again.

Step #1 - We Want To Listen To Your Story

Our medical system is frustrating. You wait weeks, sometimes months, for an appointment, only to talk to the doctor for 10 minutes before they have to run to the next patient, and you’re left sitting there wondering, “What just happened?”.

Even most physical therapy clinics operate this way. They’re not attentive, they’re fast-paced, and your therapist doesn’t have time to actually touch where you hurt.

This is why our first step is to listen to you story.

After working with lots of people with sports and activity related pain, we know that no two people are alike. Each person has a different body, a different history, and different types of pain.

That is why our first step is to have an open conversation and time for you to tell your story. That way we get a deep understanding of what’s going on, not just with your body, but also with how it’s impacting your life.

Step #2 - Find Out WHY Running Pain Started

Many people have a diagnosis, or medical term for what’s going on with their body. Maybe their doctor gave it to them, maybe tests showed the diagnosis, or maybe you found it online.

You may have been told that your only choice is to rest, stop the activity, or consider medications to ease the pain.

Sometimes, these things bring temporarily relief, but they’re not addressing what CAUSED the problem in the first place.

Every person’s cause of pain is different. No one has the exact same problem caused by the exact same thing as another person.

Our goal at Runners’ Edge Alaska is to find that original cause of your pain, so not only does your pain go away, it STAYS AWAY!

We understand that you still might be skeptical or unsure if physical therapy is right for you. That’s why we created a free taster session. (Yes! That means the first session is ON US!)

Our Taster Sessions are meant specifically for those people who are skeptical, unsure, or have even been let down in the past. During the Taster Session you’ll find out what’s wrong, how long it’s going to take to fix it, and give you peace of mind that your problem can be fixed naturally!

Step #3 - Get Rid Of The Pain & Keep It From Coming Back

This is when the big transformations occur. We develop a personalized plan that allows you to…

…Get back to exercising without fear of your pain coming back
…Be able to get back to your workouts
…Get back to your pre-injury lifestyle you love
….return to running without fear of re-injury holding you back
…get back to your optimal performance
…reduce overall risk of injury
…return to play after your surgery safely and efficiently

Our best clients are those who are motivated and ready to win back their active lifestyle. (Even if they feel stuck right now!)

What Other People Just Like You Are Saying About Runners' Edge Alaska…

Steve Wilson, Alaska Biathlon Association

“Zuzana's talk and demonstration on injury prevention was timely and the right combination demonstration and lecture to send the message home.  In addition to the practical advice Zuzana gave, her presence and credentials at our camp sent a message to US Biathlon that Alaska is where the action is.”

Tim Burke, 4 Time Biathlon Olympian

“Zuzana Roger's injury prevention presentation during the Alaska Biathlon Camp was timely and immensely appropriate for these up and coming athletes.  Zuzana's presentation was packed with useful information and it was presented in an engaging and hands-on manner. I would highly recommend this program.”

Laurie

'Do you believe in angels?   After you work with Zuzana Rogers you will!  Anybody will benefit from her expertise in movement mechanics and healing knowledge.  Zuzana works with you until the job is done.  If what you need it isn’t in her toolbox already, she will discover it for you and with you.  Her positivity is magical. She listens, she understands and most importantly she believes in you until you are strong enough to take over the job again yourself.  Not only has she helped me learn how to walk again after my traumatic leg injury—- today—- because of Dr. Rogers & her sharing BFR training with me—- I went for a steep hilly five km trail run with my teenage daughter.  I couldn’t be happier and if you seek out her wisdom You and Your Body WILL BE!"
